Coláiste Chiaráin Students on Field-Trips
The use of “Field-Trips” as an educational resource has become a very important feature of school life. Senior Cycle subjects such as Art, Geography, Agricultural Science and Biology all rely on field studies, not only as an alternative learning method but as a mandatory part of the subject syllabus. Depending on the subject, a specific percentage of the overall marks awarded in the Leaving Certificate examinations are dependent on students participating in field study research.
The fact that students at Coláiste Chiaráin travelled on a number of different field-trips last week highlights the value of this “out-of-class” learning method.
