New School Building
Accommodate 1,000 students
We are in regular contact with the DES regarding the new school building. The schedule of accommodation is completed and the DES have indicated that the 10,000 sq metre building to accommodate 1,000 students will be built in one phase. The new build has been included in the Department’s list of major capital projects for 2018.
ASD unit
The new school building will include two ASD units to cater for students with special education needs. Coláiste Chiaráin has begun preparations for this, including discussions with Primary schools, staff and other agencies. It is hoped that the school will be able to cater for students with ASD from 2018 onwards.
